Director Statement
With A Passage of Silence, we decided to blend CCTV-style footage with cinematic scenes to showcase authentic footage actually shot in Iran rather than recreating it here in California. This combination allows the film to carry the raw truth of the environment it represents while grounding the story in the reality faced by people living under constant surveillance.
This regime does not care about anyone or anything beyond its own survival. No matter how much someone dedicates their life to it, once they are no longer useful, they will be discarded.
I have a deep admiration for the brave people of Iran who stand up to this regime and are not afraid to speak their minds, even when it comes at great personal risk. Their courage continues to inspire me and reminds me why stories like this matter.
